5월13일 세계반제플랫포옴(The World Anti-imperialist Platform)·민중민주당(민중당)이 공동주최한 세계반제동시투쟁이 광주 구전남도청앞에서 강력히 전개됐다.
광주는 43년전 전두환파쇼정권에 맞서 온민중이 일어난 항쟁이 벌어진 도시로 역사적인 의의를 갖는다. 투쟁은 문화공연, 집회, 행진순으로 이어졌다.
시작에 앞서 참가자들은 자주통일과 민주주의를 위해 투쟁하다 산화한 열사들을 기리며 묵념한 뒤 <임을위한행진곡>을 제창했다.
먼저 민중가수 최도은이 <오월의노래2>를 힘있게 불렀다. 이후 윤석열정부의 파쇼탄압에 저항하며 최근 분신한 양회동노동자를 추모하며 <끝내살리라>를 불렀다.
다음으로 소리공작소 <동해누리>의 반제투쟁에 한생을 바친 투사들과 오월광주의 영령을 기리는 공연이 이어졌다.
극단 <희망새>는 1980년 5월 광주의 모습을 담은 창작뮤지컬과 <바람아 불어라> 노래공연을 진행했다.
참가자들은 <윤석열타도! 미군철거!>, <STOP THE US IMPERIALIST WAR DRIVE!>가 적힌 손피시를 들고 구호 <만국의 노동자민중 단결하여 제국주의 끝장내자!>, <반제공동투쟁으로 제국주의전쟁책동 분쇄하자!>를 힘차게 외쳤다.
리카르도 몰리나베네수엘라전부통령은 <우리는 1980년 5월 민주주의를 위해 불의에 항거하고 제국주의에 부역하는 압제자에게 학살당한 코리아민중이 얼마나 용기 있었는지 알고 있다>고 전했다.
이어 <민중이 우고 차베스를 공화국의 대통령으로 선출했던 1999년부터 줄곧 미제국주의의 포위속에 있었던 베네수엘라의 우리는 인류와 어머니지구의 진정한 적은 바로 제국주의라는 것을 알고 있다>며 <해방투쟁들에서 희생된 모든 영령들을 위해, 우리는 여러분의 계속된 투쟁에 함께할 것이다>라고 힘주어 말했다.
이적반미투쟁본부상임대표는 <미연방제국주의는 이땅의 반쪽을 미군기지화하고 부역자정권을 손아귀에 쥐고 흔들고 있다>고 지적했다. 또 <이땅을 완전 자주강국으로 안착시키고 하나의 조국을 만들기 위해 미군을 이땅에서 추방시키자!>고 강조했다.
조티 브라영국CPGB-ML부대표가 공동성명 <나토의 전쟁책동이 코리아와 대만, 동아시아 전체를 위협한다>를 낭독했다.
계속해서 민중민주당, 세계반제플랫포옴, 세계노총의 깃발아래 국제진보인사들과 남코리아의 노동자·청년학생을 비롯한 600여명이 가로막 <전세계미군기지 철거하라!>, <나토중심제국주의동맹 타도하자!>, <제국주의전쟁에 비협조! 투쟁!>, <광주민중항쟁정신계승! 윤석열타도! 미군철거!>, <친일매국 친미호전 윤석열타도!> 등 구호가 적힌 가로막을 내세우고 금남로일대를 행진했다.
행진은 농악대공연과 함께 광주민중항쟁도를 앞세워 힘있게 진행됐다.
참가자들은 구호 <광주항쟁정신 따라 윤석열 타도하자!>, <광주항쟁정신 따라 미국놈들 몰아내자!>, <친미호전 파쇼무리 윤석열 타도하자!> 를 힘차게 외쳤다.
샤흘 와호(Charles Hoareau)프랑스ANC대표는 <저처럼 항쟁과 광주코뮌의 역사를 알 행운을 가진 프랑스인들의 임무는 광주코뮌의 역사와 그주역들의 위대함과 용기를, 열사들이 불러일으킨 희망을 널리 알리는 것이다>라며 <43년이 지난 오늘도 광주코뮌은 여전히 살아있으며, 이를 기억하는 광주시민들은 세계의 청춘이다>라고 밝혔다.
이어 <모든 항쟁의 도시에서처럼 광주에서도 바로 우리가 역사의 방향에 있다. 광주코뮌만세! 동지들, 투쟁을 계속하자! 전세계 민중들의 연대!>라고 목소리를 높였다.
끝으로 참가자들은 <인터내셔널가>를 부르며 광주세계반제동시투쟁을 힘차게 전투적으로 마쳤다.

광주플랫포옴공동성명: 나토의 전쟁책동이 코리아와 대만, 동아시아 전체를 위협한다.
나토가 우크라이나에서의 대리전에서 명백히 패배하고있음에도 불구하고, 나토의 임박한 패배가 제국주의가 코리아와 중국에서 똑같은 정권교체전략시도를 위한 준비를 다그치는것을 막지못했다.
우크라이나군대가 10여년간 나토의 대리군대로 변모하고 우크라이나인구 전체가 러시아총을 막아서는 총알받이역할을 받아들이도록 훈련된것처럼, 남코리아와 대만의 민중과 군대도 북과 중국의 정부를 전복하고 영토를 통제하려는 미국주도전쟁의 대리군대역할을 하도록 준비되고있다.
대리군대를 찾기 위해, 제국주의자들은 코리아나 중국 국경에서 멈추지않고있다. 그들은 또한 동유럽에서 했던것처럼 이웃나라영토를 군사기지로 바꾸고 이웃나라군대를 예비대리군대로 바꾸기 위해 모든힘을 다하고있다.
동유럽에서처럼 동아시아에서도, 제국주의자들은 자신들의 뜻대로 되기만 한다면 얼마든지 많은 사람을 죽이고 많은 나라들은 불길에 휩싸이게 할 준비가 되어있다.
왜 그런 나라들이 표적이 되고있는가? 그나라들의 공통점은 무엇인가?
그나라들은 사회제도가 아니라 자주성때문에 표적이 되고있다. 제국주의자본가에 무릎 꿇고 자국의 민중과 자원이 서방기업의 제국주의착취대상이 되는것, 경제정치생활이 CIA와 미국무부에 통제되는것을 거부하기때문이다.
그러면 제국주의자들이 왜 이순간에 그토록 필사적으로 전쟁을 일으켜야하는가?
전세계민중은 우리가 모든곳의 노동자들을 빈곤하게 하는 생활비위기로 고통받고있으며 특히 극빈층이 가장 큰 고통을 겪고있음을 알고있다. 하지만 상대적으로 극히 소수만이 우리의 문제가 세계자본주의체제의 반복되는 위기에 기인하며 이체제는 대중을 가난하게 만들고 대중들 자신의 노동력으로 생산한 모든 상품을 살수 없도록 함으로써 실패해가고있다는것을 이해하고있다.
제국주의자들은 도산하는 은행과 독점을 구하기 위해서 돈을 찍어내고 이는 자국내에서뿐아니라 전세계적으로 인플레이션을 유발한다. 그들은 이윤극대화를 위해 현재로서는 약탈하지못하는 영토들을 차지하기 위한 마지막 남은 수단으로 전쟁을 일으키고있다.
20세기의 역사는 침체된 세계경제에 수요를 되살리는 궁극적인 수단이 전쟁이며, 전쟁은 우선 막대한 군비수요를 창출하고 그다음엔 전쟁에서 파괴된 모든 생산물과 인프라에 대한 재건수요를 만들어낸다는것을 보여준다. 제국주의자들에게는 유용한 일자리를 줄수 없어 <잉여>로 간주되는 수많은 사람들을 제거하는데에도 또한 편리한 수단이 된다.
이것이 우리민중이 고통받고 싸워야하는 이유다. 민중들을 궁핍화하고 종속화하는 경제시스템을 지키려하고 착취자들이 계속해서 우리의 노동력으로 배불리고 있기때문이다.
이죽음의 소용돌이에서 벗어나는 방법은 단 하나다. 세계에 대한 제국주의지배의 유대를 끊어버리고 임금노예제도를 계획생산제도로 바꾸는것이다. 각국의 자원이 공동소유되고 소수의 억만장자의 이윤이 아니라 민중의 요구를 총족시키는데 사용되며, 세계민중간 평화와 국제적협력이 경쟁과 전쟁을 대체하는것이다.
오늘 혁명의 도시 광주, 수많은 용감한 열사들이 코리아의 여전히 해결되지않은 민족해방투쟁의 대의를 위해 목숨을 바친 바로 이자리에 서서, 우리의 공동의 대의를 위한 열사들의 용감한 행동과 위대한 희생에 겸허함과 감동을 느끼지않을수 없다.
우리가 그들에게 바칠수 있는 최고의 헌사는 최후승리까지 그들의 투쟁을 계속 이어나가겠다고 다짐하는것이다. 다가오는 전쟁에서 제국주의를 물리치기 위해 가능한 광범한 세력을 단결시켜는것은 모두를 위한 자유, 해방, 민중이 정권과 생산수단의 주인이 되는 사회로의 장구한 노정에서 우리가 나아가야할 최우선의 필수적단계다.

Platform joint statement in Gwangju: Nato’s war drive threatens Korea, Taiwan and all of east Asia
the fact that Nato is clearly losing its proxy war in Ukraine, their impending defeat has not stopped the imperialists from accelerating preparations to try the same regime-change strategy in Korea and in China.
Just as in Ukraine’s army has for a decade been transformed into a proxy Nato force, and just as whole sections of the Ukrainian population have been groomed to accept their role as cannon fodder to be hurled in front of the Russian guns, so too are the people and armed forces in south Korea and Taiwan being prepared to act as proxy forces in US-led wars aimed at bringing down the governments and getting control of the territory of the DPRK and of China.
In their bid to find proxy forces, the imperialists are not stopping at the borders of Korea or China. They are also doing everything in their power to turn the territory of neighbouring countries into military bases and the armies of those countries into back-up proxy forces – just as we have also seen them doing in eastern Europe.
As in eastern Europe, so in east Asia, the imperialists are prepared for any number of people to die and any number of countries to go up in flames if they can only get their way.
But why are these countries being targeted? What is it that they have in common?
They are targeted not because of their social system, but because of their independence. Because they refuse to bow the knee to the imperialist financiers; refuse to allow their people and resources to be the subject of imperialist superexploitation by western corporations; refuse to allow their economic and political life to be controlled by the CIA and the US state department.
And why should the imperialists be driving to war so desperately at this particular moment?
People all over the world are aware that we are suffering a cost of living crisis that is impoverishing workers everywhere, and the poorest the most. But relatively few understand that our problems are the result of a recurring crisis in the global capitalist system, which is failing because it has impoverished the masses and left them unable to buy all the goods their own labour has produced.
To try to save their failing banks and monopolies, the imperialists are printing money that is causing inflation not only in their own countries, but all over the world. And they are driving to war as the last remaining means for taking hold of those territories that they are not presently able to loot for maximum profits.
The history of the twentieth century shows us that the ultimate means for bringing back demand into the failing global economy is war, which first creates a massive demand for armaments, and later creates a demand for reconstruction of all the products and infrastructure that have been destroyed in the war. As far as the imperialists are concerned, it is also a convenient way of getting rid of large numbers of people, who they consider to be ‘surplus’, since they cannot find useful work to give them.
This is why our people are being asked to suffer and to fight: to save the economic system which keeps them poor and subjected, and to allow our exploiters to continue to grow rich off the back of our labour.
There is only one way out of this death spiral: we must break the bonds of imperialist domination over the world, and replace the system of wage-slavery with a system of planned production, where each nation’s resources are owned collectively and used to meet the needs of the people rather than to make profits for a handful of billionaires; where peace and international cooperation between the peoples of the world take the place of competition and war.
Standing here today in the revolutionary city of Gwangju, on the very spot where so many brave martyrs gave their lives in the cause of Korea’s still unfinished nation-liberation struggle, we cannot but be humbled and inspired by their brave actions and their great sacrifice in our shared cause.
The best tribute we can pay to them is to pledge to continue their struggle until final victory. Uniting the widest possible forces to defeat the imperialists in the coming war is the first vital step we must take in the long march to freedom, liberation and socialism for all.
