25일 세계노총이 성명을 통해 <133개국의 1.05억 투쟁하는 노동계급을 대표하는 세계노총은 피델카스트로의 5주기를 맞아 동지적 경의를 표한다>고 발표했다.
성명은 <위대한 혁명가 피델카스트로는 독재자 바티스타에 맞서 무장투쟁을 시작했으며, 그는 쿠바민중의 무장항쟁의 이론가이자 조직가였다>라며 <쿠바민중의 무장항쟁은 체게바라, 카밀로시엔푸에고스, 라울카스트로와 여러 무장투사들과 함께 전개됐으며, 그란마에서의 전설적인 항해와 시에라마에스트라에서의 첫전투에서부터 오늘날까지 피델카스트로는 하바나에 그의 영웅적인 동지들과 함께 개선했다. 피델카스트로는 혁명정부의 첫총리직을 맡았다.>고 밝혔다.
이어서 <50년간 쿠바사회주의지도자로서 피델카스트로는 그의 모든 노력을 다해 조국과 쿠바민중을 엄호하기 위해 복무했다. 특히 피그스만침공 당시 미제침략군을 철퇴하는데서 크게 활약했다.>라고 강조했다.
계속해서 <피델카스트로의 지도아래 쿠바는 알제리, 시리아, 앙골라, 에티오피아를 비롯한 세계 각지에 국제주의적 지지를 보낼수 있었다. 수천의 쿠바민중이 그나라 민중의 자주와 아파르트헤이트(남아공의 인종차별정책)을 끝내기 위해 함께 싸웠다.>라며 <쿠바의 의사들, 교사들, 과학자들이 아프리카・라틴민중의 혁명과업에 나서서 투쟁했고 수천의 학생들이 쿠바의 대학교에서 유학했다>고 전했다.
끝으로 <피델카스트로의 삶과 혁명실천은 쿠바노동자・민중이 가지는 혁명위업에 대한 경애의 힘으로 계속 될 것이다. 또한 국제보건위기라는 고난과 자본주의국가들의 방해에도 불구하고 쿠바과학자들이 세계각국에서 노는 국제적인 역할, 미제국주의의 범죄적인 제재압박에 대한 저항 속에 살아있을 것이다.>고 말했다.
성명은 구호 <피델은 살아있다! 투쟁은 계속된다!>와 함께 <피델카스트로는 영원한 모범이다>라고 방점을 찍었다.

| The World Federation of Trade Unions, on behalf of its 105 million members who live and struggle in 133 countries around the world, pays tribute to the memory of Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro Ruz on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of his physical departure on November 25, 2016. The great revolutionary Fidel Castro started the armed struggle against the dictator Batista by attacking on Moncada barracks; he was the mind and the organizer of the armed uprising of the Cuban people, which started together with Ernesto Che Guevara, Camilo Cienfuegos, Raúl Castro and other great militants, from the sailing of the legendary Granma and the first battles from Sierra Maestra, until the day he entered Havana victorious with his comrades and was appointed Prime Minister of the revolutionary government. Head of socialist Cuba for almost 50 years, he served with all his might to defend his homeland and the Cuban people, culminating in the repulse of the Bay of Pigs invasion and the defeat of US forces. He served the development of socialism and its great conquests for the workers and the people. Under his leadership, Cuba offered enormous internationalist support to the peoples of Algeria, Syria, Angola, Ethiopia, and elsewhere, where thousands of Cubans fought alongside the peoples for independence and the end of apartheid. Tens of thousands of Cuban doctors, teachers, scientists took part in missions and helped the peoples of Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean, while tens of thousands of students from third world countries studied on scholarships in universities established in Cuba. The life and action of Fidel will continue through the love of the workers and the people of Cuba for the revolution and its achievements; through their daily struggle to preserve the workers’ character of their state; through their enormous achievements in tackling the Pandemic in stark contrast to its tackling in the capitalist countries and through the international aid of Cuban scientists to dozens of other countries; through resistance to the US criminal embargo and efforts to destabilize Cuba by imperialist powers. The world class-oriented trade union movement, the WFTU, will always stand by the heroic CTC Cuba and the Cuban people. We will always honor and spread the history and action of Fidel Castro, so that workers around the world can learn from his example. So that they know that the Peoples are invincible when they are determined and that socialism is the answer to capitalist barbarism. FIDEL IS ALIVE AND THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES!
